Kitchens & waterproof flooring go together
You'll have multiple requirements when you shop for kitchen flooring. First, waterproof is a must, but it must be stylish, durable, low maintenance, and easy on the joints.
Vinyl addresses all those needs and more. Here are some great waterproof flooring options.
Anything vinyl is now a trend
That includes sheet vinyl and the luxury version. Both come with beautiful wood, stone, ceramic tile looks, depth, dimension, and textured appearances. Luxury vinyl (LVF) is cut into planks or tile-sized squares.
Sheet vinyl is the original product—luxury vinyl (LVF), a newer, more advanced version, thicker and layered. A robust top wear layer protects the floor from scratches, scuffs, and dents.
Both are waterproof floors. Vinyl itself is a waterproof material that needs no special coating to help it along.
Waterproof flooring: relatively new, already popular
These surfaces are luxury vinyl, engineered to be thicker with increased durability. This flooring is also constructed with the WPC (wood plastic composite) or SPC (stone plastic composite) cores that won't peel or ripple ever–no matter how much water there is or for how long.
Laminate: joining waterproof flooring options
Laminate has long been considered an affordable, viable alternative to genuine wood. However, laminate has wood in its construction, keeping it from being installed in kitchens.
A new, additional version features a non-wood construction. As a result, it's spill-proof and can be installed in any room in the house.
Original laminate is still highly sought after. Please be sure to specify the version you want.
